The Illinois Fighting Illini looked to be cruising along and they cracked the top 25 but the winning came to a screeching halt last time out as they were crushed by Wisconsin in Madison. Illinois is 1-2 on the road and 2-1 in Big 10 play as they are starting to look like at least a bubble team for March Madness. Tracy Abrams is averaging 12.6 points, Joseph Bertrand is averaging 11.4 points and 5.8 rebounds, and Jon Ekey is averaging 8.1 points and 5.9 rebounds. Illinois is averaging 72.1 points and they are shooting 42.9 percent from the floor while defensively they are allowing 63.7 points and their opponents are shooting 40.6 percent. Illinois hasn’t taken the easy route playing the 48th ranked schedule in the country.
