The Washington State Cougars and the Utah Utes face off on Sunday in Pac-12 college basketball action.
The Washington State Cougars are having a rough year with an overall record below .500 and an 0-3 start in Pac-12 play. Wazzu is 4-3 at home this season and have played the 37th ranked schedule but they have ha little success and a rough schedule ahead. DaVonte Lacy leads the Cougars averaging 17.7 points and 4.7 rebounds. Royce Woolridge is averaging 9.8 points, Que Johnson is averaging 9.1 points, and D.J. Shelton is averaging 7.9 points and 7.9 rebounds. Washington State is averaging 66 points and they are shooting 42.5 percent from the floor while defensively they are allowing 64.1 points and their opponents shoot 42.9 percent. WSU will more than likely be an underdog in every game they play the rest of the season.

The Utah Utes got off to a strong start to the season but they have lost two of their last three games. Utah is 0-2 on the road this season and tey have played just the 306th ranked schedule in the country. Jordan Loveridge is averaging 16.5 points and 8.7 rebounds to lead the Utes. Delon Wright is averaging 15.6 points and 7.2 rebounds, Brandon Taylor is averaging 11.2 points, and Dakari Tucker is averaging 7.6 points. Utah is averaging 83.6 points and they are shooting 52.4 percent while defensively they are allowing 61.1 points and their opponents are shooting 38.5 percent. Utah has yet to show they can get it done against the better teams.
Washington State is 4-1 against the spread in their last five home games, 5-2 against the spread against the Pac-12, and 13-6 against the spread following a game that they covered the point spread. Utah is 6-1-1 against the spread against the Pac-12, 19-7 against the spread following a loss, and 14-6-1 against the spread in their last 21 road games. The home team has covred the point spread in the last five meetings of these two.
Utah still hasn’t shown they can do it against the best but they face far from that here and I like them to get the cover.
