The Syracuse Orange travel to Boston College to play the Eagles on Monday night.
Syracuse improved to 16-0 on the year after beating North Carolina 57-45 on Saturday. The Orange only shot 35% from the field and 21.1% from behind the arc. However, the infamous Syracuse zone held North Carolina to 39.2% shooting and only 16.7% from long distance. C.J. Fair led the way with 20 points, while Jerami Grant added 12 points and a team-high 12 rebounds. On the year, Fair averages 17.2 points per game and 5.6 rebounds. Trevor Cooney averages 13.9 points per game, while Grant averages a team-high 6.1 rebounds per contest. The Orange average 74.1 points per game while shooting 46.7% from the field. Syracuse is a decent team when it comes to rebounding and distributing the ball on offense. This will be Syracuse’s third true road game of the year; the Orange beat St. John’s and Virginia Tech on the road so far this season.

The Boston College Eagles improved to 5-11 after beating Virginia Tech on the road 62-59 on Saturday. Boston College shot 43.1% from the field and 38.5% from long distance. The Eagles only shot 57.1% from the charity stripe in the win. Lonnie Jackson led the Eagles with 17 points, while Ryan Anderson added 6 points and a team-high 12 rebounds. Olivier Hanlan chipped in with 14 points and 4 rebounds in the win. On the year, Hanlan averages a team-high 19.9 points and 3 assists per game for the Eagles. Anderson averages 16 points and a team-high 6.9 rebounds per game. The Eagles averages only 71.3 points per game while shooting 44.5% from the field. Boston College is one of the worst rebounding teams in the country and they also do not distribute the ball well. The Eagles bounced back after losing four straight games, and will now have a tough test against the best team in the ACC.
Boston College won the last two meetings with Syracuse back in 2004 and 2005. Times have changed since then and the Eagles are going to have their hands full on Monday night in Syracuse. Boston College will struggle against the Syracuse zone and the Orange should have no problem scoring on an Eagles team that can’t play good defense. Syracuse rolls at home in this one.
