The Texas State Bobcats visit the Cajun Dome for a showdown with the Louisiana-Lafayette Rajun Cajuns Monday at 7PM on ESPN3.
Texas State is 5-11 to start the season and got their 5th win of the season in convincing fashion this past week with a dominant 61-36 win over Louisiana Monroe. The Bobcats had arguably their best shooting night of the year, shooting it 57% from the floor, 54% from three and 100% (7-7) at the line. The Bobcats held LA-Monroe to just 9 second half points -- likely a nationwide low in a half of play for any team this season. Wesley Davis had 14 off the bench and Joel Wright had 14 and 10 in the post.

Louisiana-Lafayette is 10-5 on the season and bounced back from their 2OT loss to La-Monroe to make easy work of Texas Arlington 90-70. The Rajun Cajuns were in the 90’s for their second straight game and built a double digit lead by halftime that was never in doubt after the break. Shawn Long was rock solid with 22 and 9 off the bench and starters Xavier Rimmer and Elfrid Peyton each had 12 points to pace the Cajuns first unit.
Louisiana Lafayette has been scoring the ball at will of late and I think Texas State’s win over La-Monroe was more a product of them being fatigued from their win over La-Lafayette than the Bobcats having found their way. I expect the Rajun Cajuns to run wild and have this one in the books mid way through the second half with the win and cover at home.
