The Line: Florida Gators -14 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Florida Gators and the Georgia Bulldogs face off on Tuesday in a SEC rivalry college basketball battle.
The Florida Gators needed overtime to get it done but they managed to beat Arkansas on Saturday to extend their winning streak to seven games. Florida is ranked 11th in the nation, are 9-0 at home, and have won two of their three games against teams ranked in the top 25. It looks like the Gators will be without top scorer Casey Pratehr once again as he is doubtful with a knee injury. UF still has plenty to work with as Scottie Wilbekin is averaging 12.9 points, Michael Frazier II is averaging 11.9 points, and Patric Young is averaging 10.9 points and 6.1 rebounds. Florida is averaging 72.7 points and they are shooting 46.4 percent while defensively they are allowing 60.3 points and their opponents are shooting 39.7 percent. Florida is one of the deeper teams in the nation and are looking like a legitimate contender to win the SEC.

The Georgia Bulldogs are playing their best basketball of the season and while they have been underdogs in their first two SEC conference game they have walked away with wins in both games. Georgia is 1-2 on the road this season and 1-1 against teams ranked in the top 25. Charles Mann leads the Dawgs averaging 14.1 points per game. Kenny Gaines is averaging 12.2 points, Nemanja Djurisic is averaging 10.6 points, and Brandon Morris is averaging 9.2 points. Georgia is averaging 71.2 points and they are shooting 46.8 percent while defensively they are allowing 68.4 points and their opponents are shooting 40.2 percent. The Bulldogs will not be intimidated going into this one.
Florida is 3-8 against the spread against the SEC, 1-3-1 against the spread in their last five home games, and 1-3-1 against the spread in their last five games overall. Georgia is 14-2 against the spread against the SEC, 10-2 against the spread in their last 12 road games, and 11-5 against the spread against a team with a winning record. The favorite has covered the point spread in four of the last five meetings of these two.
This is a big number and while I like the Gators to win convincingly, the number may be a little too convincingly.
