The Ball State Cardinals look for their first conference win at the expense of the Ohio Bobcats.
I think the Cardinals have numbers that tell the story of their season thus far as this team might be in the role of spoiler before the conference slate gets hot and heavy. Ball State has been outscored 74-68 and that trend continued with an 86-74 loss to visiting Kent State. The visitors held a seven point edge at the break before the Golden Flashes exploded with a 54 point second half. Both teams hit at over 51% but 18 Cardinals turnovers did them in. Mark Alstork paced the attack with 15 points, ten pulls and five assists with Majok Majok netting 14 points and seven yanks followed by Zavier Turner and Chris Bond adding 12 and ten points.

One thing I have seen the past few times when Ohio and Akron square off is bet on the Zips because they have owned the Bobcats. An 83-80 double OT loss continued the Bobcats frustration in this match up with sizeable leads in the second half and first overtime going by the wayside. The only thing that separated these rivals was the Zips sank a few more baskets. Maurice Ndour poured in a game high 25 points with six pulls before fouling out in 33 minutes with Nick Kellogg adding 19 points while Travis Wilkens and Stevie Taylor netting 14 and nine points respectively.
I am not completely sold on Ohio after watching them choke away a game to Akron especially as a big favorite here. I know Ball State has struggled but I'm still sitting this out...
