The fans at Draddy Gymnasium are hoping their Manhattan Jaspers can handle the Siena Saints.
Siena doesn't have the great numbers that jump off the paper but the truth is this team can be very tough when they are playing well. Despite an 87-78 loss to Iona the Saints went through periods where an upset was within their grasp and a 51.8%-44% edge in shooting says as much. However, the Gaels were 15-30 from down town and sank eight more free throws to secure the victory. Evan Hymes led the Saints in scoring with 19 points with Rob Poole netting 16 while Maurice White and added 12 points followed by nine point efforts from Ryan Oliver and Marquis Wright.

It will be interesting to see if Manhattan can survive the next several weeks without leading scorer George Beamon. I guess we can say so far, so good after an 86-79 overtime decision over visiting Marist but it wasn't all good with a few blown leads and poor foul shooting almost costing them. The Jaspers burned the nets with 58.5% marksmanship but were only 17-34 from the foul line. Michael Alvarado picked up the scoring load with 33 points on 13-17 from the floor with Rich Williams adding 13 followed by Shane Richards and Emmy Andujar with 21 points with Andujar hauling in nine rebounds.
There seems to be some info that Beamon might be able to play but everything I have heard is negative. There is no line out for this and I will update when it does...
