The Auburn Tigers and the Florida Gators face off on Saturday in SEC college basketball action.
The Auburn Tigers are still looking for their first SEC win of the season as they have started conference play at 0-3. Auburn is 8-2 at home this season but they don’t have a win over a team with a RPI better than 100. Chris Denson is the Tigers leading scorer averaging 19.4 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. K.T. Harrell is averaging 19 points, Tahj Shamsid-Deen is averaging 8.4 points, and Asauhn Dixon-Tatum is averaging 6.3 points and 6.2 rebounds. Auburn is averaging 74.5 points and they are shooting 45.4 percent while defensively they are allowing 70.9 points and their opponents are shooting 42.2 percent. Auburn looks like they could be in for another long year.

The Florida Gators are off to a 14-2 start to the season and are ranked seventh in the nation. Both of Florida’s losses have come on the road and both have been to teams with RPI’s better than 50. Casey Prather is questionable for this one but he leads the Gators averaging 17 points per game and 5.4 rebounds. Michael Frazier II and Scottie Wilbekin are averaging 12.4 points per game each, Dorian Finney-Smith is averaging 11.1 points and 7.8 rebounds, and Patric Young is averaging 10.8 points and 6.3 rebounds. Florida is averaging 72.6 points and they are shooting 46.4 percent from the floor while defensively they are allowing 59.6 points and their opponents are shooting 39.3 percent. Florida is looking like the team to beat in the SEC.
Auburn is 5-14 in their last 19 games overall, 1-11 against the spread against the SEC, and 2-11 against the spread against a team with a winning record. Florida is 2-5 against the spread in their last seven road games, 2-6 against the spread in their last eight road games against a team with a winning home record, and 1-5 against the spread following a win by 20 or more points.
Look for the Gators to drill Auburn here and this game looks like a layup.
