The Line: Charlotte 49ers -9.5 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
One of the better matchups on Saturday will be when the 10-7 North Texas Mean Green take on the 11-5 Charlotte 49ers. Both teams are still fighting for respect in a fairly decent Conference USA.
The Mean Green have won five of their last seven games and are playing back-to-back road games after a meeting with Marshall, while the 49ers have won three of their last four, including an overtime win over Tulsa.

North Texas is as inconsistent as you’ll find a team in college basketball. One night the shots are falling and they’re blowing the doors off a team on the road. The next night they struggle to find the basket and get blown out by 34 to Stephen F. Austin. Meanwhile, Charlotte is one of the more underrated teams in college basketball. It beat Kansas State, Michigan and hung with an athletic Georgia State squad until the final buzzer.
The 49ers can play basketball and have the advantage over the Mean Green in field goal percentage, assists and free throw percentage. Charlotte is 8-4 against the spread this season, while North Texas is 5-4-1. The 49ers are also 7-1 against the spread in their last eight against Conference USA opponents.
This one is fairly simple: Take the 49ers and laugh to the bank.
