The Miami Hurricanes travel to Georgia Tech to play the Yellow Jackets on Saturday afternoon.
Miami dropped to 9-7 on the year after losing at home to Florida State 63-53 on Wednesday. The Hurricanes have already matched their loss total in the conference for all of last season, when they won the title. Miami shot 35.6% from the field and 32.1% from three-point range. The Hurricanes only reached the free-throw line 6 times in the loss. Donnavan Kirk led Miami with 21 points, while Rion Brown also had 21 points. On the season, Brown is averaging a team-high 14.2 points per game. Garrius Adams is averaging 10 points per game and a team-high 2.9 assists. The Hurricanes are averaging only 62.8 points per game while shooting 41.9% from the field as a team this year. Miami is a decent team when it comes to rebounding and they are one of the worst teams as far as distributing the basketball on offense. This will be the Hurricanes sixth road game of the year; Miami is 3-2 on the road.

Georgia Tech dropped to 10-7 on the year after losing to Pittsburgh 81-74 on Tuesday night. The Yellow Jackets shot 45.6% from the field and 36.4% from three-point range in the loss. Trae Golden led Georgia Tech with 22 points and 3 rebounds. Marcus Georges-Hunt finished with 13 points, while Robert Carter Jr. missed another game with a knee injury. On the year, Golden leads the Yellow Jackets with 13.6 points and 3.5 assists per game. Georges-Hunt is averaging 12 points per game, while Carter Jr. is averaging a team-high 9.3 rebounds per contest. Georgia Tech is averaging only 70.7 points per game while shooting 44.2% from the field. The Yellow Jackets are a good rebounding team, averaging 38 boards per game, and are a good team when it comes to distributing the basketball on offense. Georgia Tech has lost four of their last six games and will try to get back on track at home this weekend.
Miami has won three out of the last four meetings, but Georgia Tech won the most recent game by 2 points. Georgia Tech has played well as of late despite dropping three of their last four games. Miami has been inconsistent all year and they are struggling to find a true identity. This should be a close game and I’m going to side with the home team.
