It could be an exciting matchup when the 15-3 Gonzaga Bulldogs travel to Loyola Marymount to play the 10-9 Lions. The Bulldogs have won five of their last six games, while the Lions see a sweet opportunity to end a five-game losing slide.

It’s no secret that Gonzaga is a great team. We’re talking about an NCAA Tournament contender that has very few weaknesses. The Bulldogs shoot an unheard of 51.2 percent from the field and average 81.6 points per game. That also includes a scary 42.7 percentage from downtown. Whether it’s Kevin Pangos, Sam Dower or Gary Bell Jr. this team can hurt you in a variety of ways. It is tough to keep up with so many great shooters and match the amount of points Gonzaga puts up on a nightly basis.
Luckily for the Lions, they can shoot the rock as well. Senior guard Anthony Ireland is averaging 18.7 points per contest, while freshman Evan Payne shoots a comfortable 34.2 percent from three. Although a win hasn’t taken place since December, Loyola Marymount is still ranked 88th in the country with an average of 76 points per game.
The bad news is that Gonzaga is by far the best team the Lions have faced all season. If BYU, Portland and Santa Clara are scoring at will on Loyola Marymount, it’s scary to imagine what the Bulldogs are capable of doing. Not to mention that Gonzaga plays fairly impressive defense, holding opponents to under 40 percent from the field.
Gonzaga is 4-1 against the spread in its last five games, while Loyola Marymount is 0-5 against the spread in as many games.

Take the chalk and expect the Bulldogs to win this game pretty convincingly.
