The Ryan Center hosts the A-10 battle between visiting George Mason and Rhode Island.
George Mason has been competitive in the early going in the Atlantic Ten but competitive isn't winning which is the bottom line. The Patriots had UMass on the ropes before falling 88-87 for loss number four in a row with the defense struggling throughout with the Minutemen hitting at nearly 55%. The Patriots stayed on alive with 44% from the field combining with a 22-12 advantage at the stripe. George Mason received 26 points from Sherrod Wright with Bryon Allen pumping in another 21 while Jalen Jenkins and Johnny Williams tossing in 16 and nine points.

After watching Rhode Island drop a 72-62 decision at rival La Salle for defeat number three in a row I would say this team had their chances as a second half rally from an eleven point hole eventually ran out of steam. Ultimately the Explorers had a bit too much firepower on 46% shooting with URI countering at 41%. The Rams were outscored 19-11 at the charity stripe but an 11-21 performance left too many points on the floor. Xavier Munford carried the offense with 21 points, five yanks and eight helpers with Gilvydas Biruta adding 16 points and eleven rebounds followed by a nine point effort from TJ Buchanan.
I think Rhode Island has blow out potential an probably wins this but both are capable on any given day so I'll try the points and sit on the sideline...
