For the first time in 2014, Bowling Green will play a road game when it plays Western Michigan in the University Arena in Read Fieldhouse.
The Falcons have lost four of their last five games and are 1-4 against the spread this season on the road. However, it’s important to note that a couple of those road games include Wisconsin and St. Louis as their opponents. They are a poor three-point shooting team at 26.9 percent and shoot an embarrassing 61.9 percent from the free throw line but does have five players who average double-digit points. They also play solid defense by holding teams to 63.5 points per game.

Western Michigan has won four of its last five and is 2-2 against the spread at home. The Broncos have a great guard and big man tandem in David Brown and Shayne Whittington, as they’re averaging 32 points and 12 rebounds on a nightly basis. This team also shoots the ball better at 44.5 percent from the field and 70.6 percent from the line.
I’m a little torn on this one, but I have to ride the better team at home. I have a real hard time trusting teams that can’t make free throws. Western Michigan is 5-1 against the spread in its last six games following a straight up loss and is also 6-1 against the spread in its last seven games played on Sunday.
The Broncos should have little problem pulling away late and improving to 7-1 at home.
