The Temple Owls head out on the road to take the hardwood with the Connecticut Huskies.
Temple has tremendous scoring potential but have struggled defensively which has not been a good combination in the AAC where they stand at 0-6 following a 74-68 loss to La Salle. The Owls did stay competitive on 43% shooting thanks to 12 more looks but were done in by the Explorers 52.8% accuracy. Quenton DeCosey led all scorers with 21 points followed by a 19 point, 15 rebound performance from Anthony Lee while Dalton Pepper tossed in 15 points and snagged five boards. Overall the Owls struggled for production outside of this trio.

Connecticut has a solid combination fo scoring and defense but they were put to the test against a Louisville club that can also score and defend with anybody in the country. The result was the Cardinals did both a little better with a 76-64 decision that dropped UConn to 2-3 in the conference. UL led by six at the half and never let the Huskies mount a sustained rally with their 45% marksmanship adding up to seven more field goals versus th 35% shooting home team. Shabazz Napier carried the offensive load with 30 points including five bombs with Ryan Boatright next in line with ten points while Lasan Kromah and Niels Griffey adding seven points each.
Connecticut at home will be way too much for Temple who seems destined for the AAC basement. The Huskies likely win by whatever but I'll take the points on one of my favorite teams if Cummings plays but I won't pay to see it...
