The Notre Dame Fighting Irish travel to Florida State to play the Seminoles on Tuesday night.
Notre Dame improved to 11-7 on the year after beating Virginia Tech at home 70-63 on Sunday. The Irish shot 41.4% from the field and 32.1% from behind the arc. Pat Connaughton scored 21 points and Demetrius Jackson added 13 points for Notre Dame. Eric Atkins scored 12 points, while Garrick Sherman finished with 8 points, ending his streak of 14 straight games scoring in double figures. On the year, the Irish are led by Sherman who is averaging a team-high 14.6 points and 8.3 rebounds per game. Atkins averages a team-high 4.9 assists per game, while Connaughton averages a team-high 7.3 rebounds per contest. Notre Dame is averaging 77.5 points per game while shooting a decent 46.6% from the field as a team this season. The Irish are a decent rebounding team and are one of the best when it comes to distributing the basketball on offense. After losing two straight on the road, the Irish bounced back on Sunday but will not head back out on the road for the matchup on Tuesday night.

The Florida State Seminoles dropped to 12-5 on the year after losing at Virginia 78-66 on Saturday. The Seminoles shot 45.7% from the field and 37.5% from three-point range. Florida State reached the free-throw line 22 times and made 81.8% of their attempts. Okaro White and Aaron Thomas scored 15 points apiece for the Seminoles in the win. White also had a team-high 7 rebounds, while Thomas had a team-high 4 assists. On the year, Miller is averaging a team-high 13.4 points and 3.7 assists per game. Thomas is averaging 12.6 points per game, while White averages a team-high 6.6 rebounds per game. As a team, the Seminoles are shooting a solid 47.4% from the field while averaging 73.2 points per game. Florida State is a decent rebounding team, averaging 37.5 boards per game. The Seminoles had won three straight and seven of their past eight before losing on Saturday.
Florida State and Notre Dame last played in 2011 when the Seminoles won by 14 points at home. Notre Dame has been struggling since Grant left the team, but they should be able to manage some wins in the ACC as the season goes on. Florida State is playing well after a slow start to the season. I think the Seminoles will come out and play well at home in this one. Florida State wins but Notre Dame covers on Tuesday.
