Who knows what’s going to happen when Evansville plays Missouri State Tuesday night?
The Bears have been a wreck ever since sophomore guard Marcus Marshall suffered a knee injury. He was the best player on the team with an average of 14.3 points per game. And ever since he has been sidelined, the Bears were creamed by Indiana State and lost to a mediocre Northern Iowa team. Maybe coming home will help, but I don’t like the fact that senior forward Jarmar Gulley is now really the only true scoring threat on the team.

The Aces will likely take advantage of that considering they’re a team that shoots 46 percent from the field and 40 percent from downtown. Sophomore guard D.J. Balentine is a scoring machine with his average of 22.2 points per game and 4.2 assists. If he ends up having one of his usual games, it could be a long night for Missouri State.
Neither one of these teams play great defense and with a key injury, it’s nearly impossible to pick the home team in this one. You just don’t know what you’re going to get. I know Evansville isn’t a great team, but it shoots a high percentage and is 6-2-1 against the spread in its last nine meetings against Missouri State. It’s also 12-4-1 against the spread in its last 17 games played on Tuesday.
If you must pick this game, go ahead and go with Evansville and the points considering the circumstances.
