The Clemson Tigers travel to Pittsburgh to play the Panthers on Tuesday night.

Clemson improved to 13-4 on the year after beating Wake Forest 61-53 on Saturday. Clemson shot 46.5% from the field and 23.1% from behind the arc. The Tigers reached the free-throw line 21 times and made 85.7% of their attempts. K.J. McDaniels scored 15 points and had 12 rebounds for Clemson. The Tigers again relied on their nation-leading defense. Clemson has held every ACC opponent to 60 points or under this year. The Tigers blocked 10 shots in the win over Wake Forest. On the year, McDaniels leads the Tigers in scoring and rebounding, averaging 16.7 points and 7.2 boards per game. Rod Hall is averaging 10 points and a team-high 3.7 assists per game. The Tigers are averaging 66 points per game, while shooting 43.2% from the field as a team this year. Clemson is a good rebounding team, averaging 38.9 boards per contest. The Tigers have won three straight games and five out of their last six overall. Clemson will hit the road where they are 2-2 on the year.

Pittsburgh Panthers vs. Clemson Tigers Pick-Odds-Prediction 1/21/14

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sport

The Pittsburgh Panthers dropped to 16-2 after losing at Syracuse 59-54 on Saturday. The Panthers shot 38.3% from the field and 35.7% from long distance. Pittsburgh earned 23 trips to the free-throw line and only made 56.5% of their attempts. Lamar Patterson led the way with 18 points, while Talib Zanna added 12 points and a team-high 11 rebounds. On the year, the Panthers are led by Patterson who averages a team-high 17.6 points and 4.5 assists. Zanna is averaging 12.9 points per game, while also averaging a team-high 8.2 boards. The Panthers are shooting an impressive 48.3% from the field while scoring an average of 76 points per game as a team this season. Pittsburgh is a good rebounding team, averaging 37.7 boards per game, and they are one of the best teams when it comes to distributing the ball on offense. The Panthers will be back home after a two-game road trip; Pittsburgh is undefeated at home this season.

Both of these teams are playing great basketball right now.  Clemson is playing great defense and has strung together some wins both at home and on the road in the last month. Pittsburgh didn’t play great at Syracuse but still had a chance to win in the end. I think overall the Panthers are the better team and they will find a way to win and cover at home on Tuesday night.
