The Koessler Athletic Center and the Canisius Golden Griffins play host to the Niagara Purple Eagles.
Niagara is one of the top offensive teams in the country so when they are outscored 84-77 you know where the problem lies. Those issues were front and center in an 85-71 Quinnipiac who are no strangers to putting the ball in the basket. The Bobcats led by 14 at the break and traded scors over the final 20 minutes. Neither team shot the ball above 42% but Quinnipiac sang seven more bombs and nine more free throws. Antoine Mason exploded for a game high 28 points on 9-19 from the field with Tahjere McCall tossing in 14 points and snatching five yanks followed by Rayvon Harris and Marcus Ware ten and nine points with Harris posting eight boards.

Canisius might be one of the elite squads in the MAAC behind their run and gun style of doing things. The Golden Griffins can be inconsistent while looking great one minute and bad the next. The bad Canisius squandered a big lead in falling to Monmouth by an 83-82 count with the Hawks riding almost 53% accuracy. Even 51% shooting and 12 bombs were not enough to save the Golden Griffins who received DD in points from five players. Billy Baron led the scoring spree with 21 points, six pulls and six helpers with Chris Perez tossing in 18 points. Phil Valenti was next in line with 16 points followed by a 13 point effort from Zach Lewis while Jordan Heath contributed ten points.
I would say Canisius has the advantage but I have seen this team blow double digit leads in minutes. I am backing them right now until I dig in to the numbers but I would like to see a total before backing a team with no defense...
