The Line: Saint Joseph's Hawks -9.5 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The road doesn’t get any easier for the Rhode Island Rams, a team that has lost three of their last four games. They’ll now go on the road for the fifth time this month and play the 12-5 Saint Joseph’s Hawks.
The Hawks have won eight of their last nine games, and that one loss was a four-point loss to a red hot Massachusetts. They shoot a lights out 48 percent from the field, average nearly 15 assists per game and have five players averaging in the double figures. This is a team that can really stroke it from anywhere on the floor and also holds teams to under 44 percent from the field defensively.
The 2-3-1 against the spread record at home is concerning, but some of those losses were at the hands of Creighton, LSU and Villanova. It hasn’t been all sunshine and rainbows for the Hawks schedule wise.
The Rams don’t shoot nearly as well, as they shoot less than 43 percent from the field this season and are shooting just 41.6 percent in their last five games. If senior guard Xavier Munford doesn’t carry the load offensively, the Rams can really go cold from the field. That’s not exactly the recipe to beating a great shooting team such as Saint Joseph’s.
The Hawks are 3-0-1 against the spread in their last four games and are 4-1-1 against the spread in their last six games played on Wednesday. It’s also important to note that the favorite has covered five of the last six times these two teams have met.
Pick Saint Joseph’s to cover on its home court.
