The Northeastern Huskies brave the snow when they head south to face the Towson Tigers.
Northeastern was a conference power a season ago but early on they have their backs against the wall with issues scoring the basketball. The Huskies have been outscored 70-66 so when the offense puts up decent numbers the game has to go in the win column. That didn't happen in a 74-70 home loss to Delaware where the score first Hens fired away at 56% with NE countering with 38.5% but hanging tough with 15 extra looks. David Walker was high scorer for Northeastern with 20 points followed by a 15 point, nine rebound effort from Scott Eatherton while Zach Stahl came through with 12 points and eleven pulls.

Towson has some nice talent back and were supposed to be a factor in the Colonial but a few uneven performances said maybe not. The Tigers might have righted the ship however with five consecutive victories following a 72-57 decision at Charleston. The offense connected at a mediocre 43% which combined for an 18-11 advantage at the charity stripe which turned out to be overkill with the Cougars limited to just 33% from the field. Towson star Jerelle Benimon led all scorers with 21 points and eleven rebounds with Mike Burwell next in line with 18 points followed by Rafriel Guthrie and Four McGlynn netted 14 and eleven points respectively.
Towson seems to have gotten un tracked and have blow out potential here. Northeastern tends to play some close ones although they don't win them so I'm hoping they stay reasonably close...
