The Vanderbilt Commodores and the Ole Miss Rebels face off on Wednesday in Nashville in a SEC college basketball matchup.
The Vanderbilt Commodores have lost three of their last four games and stand at 1-3 in SEC play thus far. Vandy is 7-2 at home and they have played the 70th ranked schedule in the country but they are 1-7 against teams with a RPI better than 100. Rod Odom leads the Commodores averaging 14.3 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. Eric McClellan is averaging 14.2 points but he is listed as out, Damian Jones is averaging 11.4 points and 5.3 rebounds, and Kyle Fuller is averaging 10.9 points. Vanderbilt is averaging 69.4 points and they are shooting 45.5 percent while defensively they are allowing 68.3 points and their opponents are shooting 41.3 percent. Vandy is tied for 11th place in the SEC and this looks like it will go down as a rebuilding year.

Vanderbilt is 3-1-1 against the spread in their last five home games, 5-2-1 against the spread against the SEC, and 8-2-1 against the spread following a loss. Mississippi is 0-5-1 against the spread following a win, 1-4 against the spread in their last five games, and 28-13 against the spread in their last 41 Wednesday games. The road team has covered the point spread in five of the last six meetings of these two.
The total is moving lower but I see the public moving this the wrong way as I like the over. My stronger play is on who will cover the spread and I will post that pick in the Premium Area as well as on the App.
