The Line: George Mason Patriots +3 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
This isn’t your same George Mason team that made a deep run in the NCAA Tournament several years ago. Instead, it’s lost six straight games and 10 of its last 12. It will now return home to play a red hot George Washington team that has four of its last five.
You know the deal here. It’s either you’re putting your money on the Colonials or looking for action elsewhere. You’d have to be insane to back a George Mason team that couldn’t beat a high school team at this point.

The Patriots have won one game in the month of January and are 2-4 against the spread on their home floor. They’ve done a great job putting the ball in the hoop as of late, but the defense is allowing teams to shoot 44.6 percent from the field and average more than 70 points per game. Tough to win when George Mason is averaging just 68 points.
Meanwhile, George Washington has established itself as a solid team with wins over Creighton, Miami and VCU. It’s 6-3 against the spread on the road this season and is holding teams under 42 percent shooting in the last five games. The Colonials have been clicking on both ends of the floor as of late, but will be without starting guard Kethan Savage with a foot injury. He was averaging 13.4 points per game as the second leading scorer on the team.
I’d avoid this line at all costs. But for the sake of the article, I have no choice but to pick George Washington due to the way George Mason has played all season. The Colonials are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games and are 4-0 against the number in their last four games played on Saturday.
