The Louis Brown Athletic Center hosts the AAC battle between Rutgers and Connecticut.
Connecticut is armed with solid scoring and defense which are the qualities most teams need to be challengers where ever they happen to be. That might not be the case in the AAC where Cincinnati and Louisville are fighting for supremacy. The Huskies are still in the race after waffling visiting Temple 90-66 in a wire to wire decision. UConn did plenty of damage on 53% from the floor including a 12-23 effort from long range. DeAndre Daniels exploded for 31 points and 12 boards followed by Shabazz Napier with 27 and Niels Giffey with eleven.

Rutgers doesn't appear to have the ammunition to be a factor in the AAC as the team has struggled at both ends of the floor. The Scarlet Knights are 2-4 in the conference following a 70-56 loss at Southern Methodist with three defeats coming by double figures. The visitors trailed by eleven at the half and saw a late rally run out of steam with 32.7% accuracy and 18 turnovers doing them in with the Mustangs connecting at over 45% and sinking 12 more free throws. JJ Moore led the scoring with 15 points with Myles Mack turning in a 13 point, five assist effort while Wally Judge and Kadeem Jack added 17 points with Judge totaling nine pulls.
Connecticut is a threat to anybody in the AAC with strong scoring and defense. I think Rutgers has the shot at keeping this close and even pulling the upset but backing them against Huskies squad that is playing well is not for me even though I can be way off on UConn games so I might change this...
