The Line: Fairfield Stags -1.5 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
Siena and Fairfield will battle it out Sunday afternoon as two of the bottom teams in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. Neither team is all that great, which should force you to cap another game on the college basketball schedule. The Saints have lost three of their last four, while the Stags have only won four games all season.
You’re a braver man than I if you decide to lay any amount of money on this matchup.

But for the sake of the article, I see Siena as a great value pick. It has a huge rebounding advantage (39.1 to 35.4) over Fairfield and does a better job of putting points on the board. The Saints are averaging close to 70 points per game, while the Stags barely grind out an average of 61 per contest. Fairfield does a better job defensively, but the difference between 42.7 percent and 41.3 percent isn’t all that great.
The Stags get very little offensive production from anybody and have depth issues. The Saints aren’t exactly offensive juggernauts, but Rob Poole and Evan Hymes are both capable of putting up 20 points any given night. That’s at least more than what Fairfield has to offer.
Siena is 10-8 against the spread this season and Fairfield is 8-7. Again, not much value on either side. But seriously, do you feel confident giving up points to a team that has won only four games? I certainly do not.
The Saints are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games against teams with a losing straight up record.
Give me Siena and the points in what should be a toss-up.
