The Temple Owls hope for a big performance at home when the #16 Cincinnati Bearcats visit.
It is hard to argue with anything Cincinnati has accomplished thus far on the year as they are ranked in the top 20 behind a ferocious defense that is third nationally. By the way the Bearcats improved to 7-0 in the AAC following a 69-51 decision over Central Florida. Cincy led by three at the break before their defense slowly put the squeeze on to pull away late. UCF was held to 38.5% shooting with the home team responding with a 47% effort and a 13-7 edge at the line. Sean Kilpatrick led the attack with 19 points with Justin Jackson netting 12 while Jermaine Sanders and Titus Rubles tossed in 19.

This hasn't been a typical year for Temple as they have struggled defensively and the result has been an 0-6 start to the AAC schedule. The Owls have needed scoring to stay competitive and that hasn't always happened during a seven game slide that was capped off by a 90-66 defeat at Connecticut. The Huskies took control early with a 14 point lead at the break and never let up with a 53%-38% shooting edge adding up to eight more field goals. Will Cummings was the Owls top offensive option with 20 points with Anthony Lee tossing in 14 while the duo of Dalton Pepper and Quenton DeCosey netted 12 points apiece with DeCosey posting six boards.
I have not been all that impressed with the Bearcats offense and I have the feeling the defense will struggle at some point and need some scoring. Temple will score if this happens but I don't know if I can bet on the Owls right now...
