The LSU Tigers and the Kentucky Wildcats face off on Tuesday in SEC college basketball action.
The LSU Tigers are coming off of a loss at Alabama taking them to 3-3 in conference play this year. LSU is in a six team logjam for fifth place in the SEC and with a RPI of 63 with some quality wins they could squeak into the NCAA Tournament. Johnny O’Bryant III is averaging 14.5 points and 7.3 rebounds to lead the Tigers. Jordan Mickey is averaging 13.1 points and 7.2 rebounds, Andre Stringer is averaging 12 points, and Anthony Hickey is averaging 8.5 points. LSU is averaging 76.1 points and they are shooting 44.6 percent while defensively they are allowing 69 points and their opponents are shooting 39.2 percent. LSU is 0-2 against teams ranked in the top 25.

The Kentucky Wildcats have won their last three games but all three were at home at Rupp Arena. UK is 2-4 away from home this season and 5-1 in the SEC and they are tied for second place in the SEC. Julius Randle leads the Wildcats averaging 16.6 points and 10.4 rebounds per game. James Young is averaging 14.2 points, Aaron Harrison is averaging 13.7 points, and Andrew Harrison is averaging 11.1 points. As a team Kentucky is averaging 79.6 points and they are shooting 47.4 percent while defensively they are allowing 65.5 points and their opponents are shooting 38.7 percent. Kentucky seems to only be getting better and at this rate they will be peaking by the time the NCAA Tournament rolls around.
LSU is 2-5-1 against the spread in their last eight home games, 2-7-3 against the spread in their last 12 games overall, and 7-2-1 against the spread following a loss. Kentucky is 4-1-1 against the spread following a win, 3-12-2 against the spread in their last 17 road games, and 4-9-1 against the spread following a game that they covered the point spread. The road team has covered the point spread in nine of the last 11 meetings of these two.
This game looks to be a coin flip but getting points with the home team looks to be the better option so my play here is LSU.
