The Virginia Tech Hokies travel to Boston College to play the Eagles on Wednesday.
Virginia Tech dropped to 8-11, 1-6 ACC after losing at Virginia 65-45 on Saturday. The Hokies shot only 33.3% from the field and 16.7% from three-point range, while also shooting a miserable 56% from the charity stripe. Devin Wilson scored 12 points to lead the Hokies, who lost their sixth game in a row. The Hokies again played without Adam Smith, their third leading scorer, who is out with a calf injury. On the year, Jarell Eddie leads the Hokies with 14.4 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. Wilson is averaging 9.5 points per game and a team-high 4.6 assists. Virginia Tech is averaging 68.8 points per game while shooting 42.6% from the field. The Hokies are a good rebounding team but one of the worst when it comes to distributing the basketball on offense. The Hokies will stay out on the road where they are 1-2 on the season.

Boston College dropped to 5-14, 1-5 ACC after losing to Georgia Tech 68-60 on Tuesday night. The Eagles shot 40.4% from the field and 34.8% from three-point range. Olivier Hanlan led the Eagles with 19 points and Lonnie Jackson added 14 for Boston College, who lost for the tenth time in the last 12 games. On the season, Hanlan leads the Eagles with 18.9 points per game. Ryan Anderson is averaging 14.5 points per game while also leading the team with 7.2 rebounds per contest. The Eagles are averaging 69.6 points per game while shooting 44.4% from the field. Boston College is one of the worst rebounding teams in the country, averaging only 30.6 boards per game. The Eagles will be at home for this game; Boston College is 3-5 on their home floor this season.
These are the worst teams in the ACC at the moment and I don’t think these teams will improve much by the end of the season. Even though the Eagles have lost a ton of games this season, they have actually played better as of late. Virginia Tech on the other hand has become worst as the season has gone on. I’m going to side with the home team in what could be the worst matchup in the ACC this season.
