The Line: San Jose State Spartans +7 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
UNLV and San Jose State will play one another for the first and only time this season when they meet up Wednesday night at the San Jose State Event Center.
The Spartans have been a train wreck in 2014, as they still have yet to win a game in the month of January. They are currently riding an eight-game losing streak. They’re shooting less than 40 percent from the field, can’t score and are allowing opponents to knock down 43.8 percent of their shots. At this point, it’s safe to assume home court advantage isn’t going to play much of a factor in this game.
Seriously, who wants to watch San Jose State?
The Rebels continue to be one of my favorite teams in the Mountain West. They’re seventh in the country in rebounding, play great defense and has a variety of players who can shoot the basketball. In Saturday’s win over Fresno State, all five starters scored in the double figures. Overtime or not, that’s impressive.
UNLV is 5-1 against the spread on the road this season and is actually 8-1 dating back to last season. That’s the direction you have to go here. The Rebels are a quality basketball team, while San Jose State is just waiting for this nightmare to end and could probably care less about this matchup with the season pretty much dead.
I don’t care what the spread is, UNLV should win this game by at least 10 points.
