The South Carolina Gamecocks are struggling and they are still looking for their first SEC win of the year. South Carolina is 5-4 at home and 0-6 thus far in SEC play. SIndarius Thornwell is averaging 12.8 points per game to lead the Gamecocks. Brenton Williams is averaging 12.6 points, Tyrone Johnson is averaging 11.2 points, and Michael Carrera is averaging 6.9 points. South Carolina is averaging 70.8 points and they are shooting 43 percent while defensively they are allowing 71.6 points and their opponents are shooting 43.9 percent. The expectation was higher for the Gamecocks when they hired Frank Martin from KSU.

The Texas A&M Aggies have lost three games in a row and they are in a six-way tie for fifth place in the SEC. Texas A&M is 1-5 away from home and they have played the 130th ranked schedule in the nation. Jamal Jones is the Aggies leading scorer averaging 11.8 points per game. Kourtney Roberson is averaging 9.9 points and 7.2 rebounds, Alex Caruso is averaging 9.1 points, and Jordan Green is averaging 7.4 points. Texas A&M is averaging 67.6 points and they are shooting 44.1 percent while defensively they are allowing 62.1 points and their opponents are shooting 39.6 percent. All three of the Aggies recent losses have been one sided in the second half.
South Carolina is 4-0-1 against the spread in their last five home games, 6-2-1 against the spread in their last nine games, and 3-8-1 against the spread against the SEC. The Aggies are reeling but not enough that they don’t get it done here against a South Carolina team that can’t seem to get a win.
