The Wisconsin Badgers and the Northwestern Wildcats face off for the second time this season as they meet on Wednesday in Madison in Big Ten college basketball.
The Wisconsin Badgers got a win at Purdue in their last game to put and end to their three game losing streak. Wisconsin is 10-1 at home this season and 4-3 in Big Ten play. Sam Dekker is the Badgers leading scorer averaging 14.2 points and 6.3 rebounds. Frank Kaminsky is averaging 13.4 points and 5.8 rebounds, Ben Brust is averaging 12.8 points, and Traevon Jackson is averaging 11.2 points. Wisoconsin is averaging 75.2 points and they are shooting 46.9 percent while defensively they are allowing 63.5 points and their opponents are shooting 42.3 percent. Wisconsin is ranked 14th in the nation and they have played the third ranked schedule in the country.

The Northwestern Wildcats have won three of their last five games but they are coming off of a 26 point beat down home loss to Iowa. Northwestern is 2-6 away from home this season and they have played the 42nd ranked schedule. Drew Crawford leads the Cats averaging 15.6 points and 6.8 rebounds. JerShonn Cobb is averaging 11.3 points, Tre Demps is averaging 10.8 points, and Alex Olah is averaging 8.5 points and 5.4 rebounds. Northwestern is averaging 61.4 points and they are shooting 39.4 percent from the floor while defensively they are allowing 64.1 points and their opponents are shooting 40.7 percent. It looks like yet another year Northwestern doesn’t make the NCAA Tournament.
Wisconsin is 8-3 against the spread following a win, 5-12 against the spread in their last 17 home games against a team with a losing road record, and 5-1 against the spread in their last six Wednesday games. Northwestern is 3-7 against the spread in their last 10 games, 1-5 against the spread in their last six road games, and 1-6 against the spread in their last seven road games against a team with a winning home record. The favorite has covered the point spread in the last five meetings of these two.
The first game was an epic beat down by Wisconsin but I see Northwestern keeping this one a lot closer and getting the big number here at the very least they keep it respectable.
