The Line: Austin Peay Governors +1.5 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
Murray State will travel to Tennessee to play the Austin Peay Governors on Friday night in the only Ohio Valley matchup of the day. These two teams played one another a couple of weeks ago and the Racers crushed the Governors by a score of 89-67.
Since that loss, Austin Peay has really struggled losing three of its last four games. Two of those losses were by four or less points. It’s not the offense the team should be worried about, as it is shooting 48.7 percent on the season and 50 percent in its last five games. It’s the defense that is allowing teams to score more than 77 points on a daily basis. You can get whatever shot you’d like against the Governors, which the Racers did in the earlier meeting, shooting 47.6 from the field.

Murray State has won seven of its last eight and has really turned it up defensively. Opponents are shooting only 41.4 percent in its last five games, which is nearly a three percent difference from the regular season average of 44 percent. Offensively, the Racers are getting contributions from just about everybody, as there are four or five guys who can go off for double digits.
A line under two points is a nice spot to take the better team in Murray State. You figure this spread is only this close due to the home court advantage of Austin Peay, a place where it is 7-3 SU this season. However, Murray State has won the last six games SU against the Governors and is 8-2 against the spread in its last 10 games played against Ohio Valley competition.
Murray State is good offensively and plays better defense. Give me the more balanced team and the small chalk on the road.
