The Line: Dartmouth Big Green -2 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
Pennsylvania will take to the road Friday night for only the second time in 2014 to play Dartmouth. The Quakers are coming off just their fourth win of the season, while the Big Green are hoping to end a five-game losing skid.
The Quakers are a team that keeps shooting itself in the foot. They’ve lost several close games this season a lot of it has to do with the 17 turnovers per game average and the poor free throw shooting at 67.9 percent. If they improve those two areas, this is an OK basketball team. The good news is that they’re shooting 74.3 percent from the line in their last five games and knocking down 40.9 percent from beyond the arc.

Dartmouth is typically an above-average team defensive, but it’s been anything but during this losing streak. During the five straight losses, the Big Green are allowing teams to shoot 47.7 percent from the field and score 68 points. While the shooting percentage doesn’t seem to match up with the points, it doesn’t matter when they’re only generating 51.8 points offensively. Dartmouth has to get back to playing good defense if this losing streak is going to come to an end.
Both teams are slightly better than their record indicates. Pennsylvania has lost many close games and the rough path Dartmouth is experiencing included St. John’s and Harvard twice. So, with that said, I'll go ahead and take the road team and the points.
The Quakers have actually beaten Dartmouth SU in seven of their last eight meetings and the Big Green are only 2-5 against the spread this season
