It’ll be an interesting Atlantic 10 matchup with George Washington making its way to Dayton for a Saturday afternoon showdown. The Colonials have become one of the best teams in the conference and have won five in a row. The Flyers have been the biggest disappointment and have lost four straight.
George Washington keeps playing some of the best basketball in the country. Not only is it shooting above 50 percent in its last five games, but its defense is holding teams to only 38.2 percent from the field. It’s tough to make that stuff up. When a team plays that well from both ends of the floor, it’s going to win plenty of games against any level of competition.

Make sure to check the health of sophomore guard Joe McDonald before wagering. He’s questionable with a hip injury.
Dayton used to be a physical team that rebounded well and shot a high percentage. The 48.6 percent from the field in its last five games isn’t the reason for the losses. However, an average of 28.6 rebounds per game is the reason. That’s nearly seven rebounds less per game than its season average of 35.4. Dayton is just falling apart before our very eyes and has lost three of its last four home games.
Even with the way both teams have played as of late, I see this being a great spot for the Flyers. They’re at home, on national television and have a chance to prove that they’re better than they’re 13-8 record.
The home team is 7-3 against the spread in the last 10 meetings between these two teams. Dayton has also won five of the last seven SU against George Washington.
Look for a statement win from Dayton on Saturday.
