The Valparaiso Crusaders look for a road win at the Illinois-Chicago Flames in a Horizon tilt.
With all the talent Valparaiso lost from a year ago they were not considered a threat in the Horizon. That might turn out to be true but the Crusaders haven't been all that bad and with their scoring ability anything is possible. Green Bay could be in agreement after Valpo had their way in a 75-60 decision on Wednesday with a 13 point lead at the half being enough. Nearly 59% marksmanship overcame 19 giveaways and 38% shooting from the Phoenix. LaVonte Dority was top scorer with 26 points with Jubril Adekoya and Alec Peters adding 12 and eight points with 12 boards.

The Illinois-Chicago season can be summed up as not enough scoring combining with a defense that has allowed points. That has been the common theme for over a month and was capped off by a 74-68 loss to Detroit with the Titans never giving up a six point lead they earned in the first half. The Flames never got their offense going at 42% which cost them with the Titans sinking shots at 49% which equaled exactly three more field goals. Marc Brown gave the Flames 24 points and six boards with an 18 point, eight rebound effort from Kelsey Barlow followed by Jake Wiegand with 13 points and another eight pulls.
I think the world will be on Valparaiso simply because of the respective records but that's dangerous to completely ignore the home dog. I'm not ignoring them but I'm cautiously cacking the Crusaders on potential...
