The Southern Methodist Mustangs face a tall order in the visiting Memphis Tigers in AAC action.
It seems as if Memphis has shook off a disappointing loss to Connecticut and the proof is in the pudding with four consecutive double digit victories after surving at trip to Central Florida by a 69-59 count. The Tigers responded to the Knights slowdown tactics with 51% shooting while turning 18 UCF fouls in to a hefty 16-4 margin. Joe Jackson paced the Memphis scoring with 17 points, five pulls and five helpers with Michael Dixon Jr. and Chris Crawford netting 12 points each followed by a ten point, six rebound effort from Geron Johnson.

When you play defense like Southern Methodist a lot of points aren't really a necessity as this offense can score which has made this a tough team to deal with. The Mustangs only give up 61 points but this unit struggled in conference play for the first time in a 78-71 loss at South Florida which was too much to ask of the offense. SMU sank shots at 49% but gave the ball away 16 times which was trouble with the Bulls firing away at 53%. Nic Moore led all scorers with 23 points with a 4-6 performance on threes with Markus Kennedy and Ben Moore tossing in eleven points each while Nick Russell chipped in with ten points.
The problem for Southern Methodist is Memphis can beat you with their scoring or defense as the Mustangs aren't going to throw 80 points on the scoreboard. This might be better to watch then bet but I'm going with defense for now...
