Louisiana Tech will remain on the road after a recent road loss to UTEP. Its next opponent on Saturday afternoon should be a little easier considering its UTSA, a team with a 7-12 record and losers in three of its last four.
The Bulldogs were shocked by the Miners on Thursday, as they allowed them to shoot a ridiculous 56 percent from the field. Louisiana Tech is great offensively and is averaging more than 84 points per game, but it certainly isn’t good enough to overcome that lights out shooting. Considering the team has played good defense all year and is holding opponents to 40.7 percent on the season, I’ll chalk that game up as a fluke.

The Roadrunners recently snapped a three-game losing streak with a win over Rice, but that really isn’t saying much. In their last five games, Texas-San Antonio is shooting only 41.8 percent from the field and allowing the opposition to shoot 48.1 percent from the field. The team also struggles to rebound the basketball (33.7), which could make the difference in the game considering the Bulldogs average 41.2.
This is either Louisiana Tech or no play.
Texas-San Antonio is 4-7 against the spread this season and 6-5 SU on its home court. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs are 5-1 against the spread in their last six games against teams with a losing SU record.
Overlook the recent loss and take Louisiana Tech on the road and the heavy chalk.
