Instate and conference rivals Central Michigan and Western Michigan tangle at University Arena.
Central Michigan has quickly been thrown in to the role of spoiler after an 0-7 start to the conference slate that has seen the Chips perform well at times but not for a full 40 minutes. A prime example of this was their 71-67 loss at Ohio where they were up eight points at the break only to falter late. CMU struggled throughout the second half before finishing with 40% from the field with a 5-21 mark on threes sticking out. The Chips received 19 points from Chris Fowler with Braylon Rayson tossing in 15 followed by a combined 21 points from John Simons and Austin Stewart with Simons posting eight boards.

Western Michigan might have labeled a challenger in the MAC in the preseason and that might come to be but if so the offense and defense have to be on the same page virtually every night. That wasn't what we saw Wednesday in an 83-63 loss at Buffalo with the Bulls up 15 after 20 minutes and never sweating. The story of the game was UB sinking shots at over 51% which added up to eight more field goals which was decisive. Shayne Whittington was the Chippewas best scoring option with a 13 point, five pull and five steal performance with David Brown and Tucker Haymond adding eleven points each with the latter snaring six boards.
Neither team has great ATS numbers although Western Michigan is the better team and are home. I'm thinking why not take a shot with the points?
