The Ohio State Buckeyes have los five of their last six games and they sit at 3-5 in Big Ten play this season. Ohio State is 3-3 away from home and they have played the 33rd ranked schedule in the nation going 0-2 against teams ranked in the top 25. LaQuinton Ross is averaging 14.2 points and 5.7 rebounds per game to lead the Buckeyes. Lenzelle Smith Jr. is averaging 12.2 points, Aaron Craft is averaging 9.2 points, and Amir Williams is averaging 9.0 points and 6.5 rebounds. Ohio State is averaging 72.6 points and they are shooting 45.4 percent while defensively they are allowing 58.9 points and their opponents are shooting 39.8 percent. Ohio State is scrambling but the schedule won’t be getting any easier anytime soon.
Wisconsin is 1-4 against the spread in their last five games, 1-5 against the spread following a loss, and 1-4 against the spread in their last five home games against a team with a losing road record. Ohio State is 0-4 against the spread following a loss, 0-5 against the spread in their last five games, and 0-4 against the spread following a game that they didn’t cover the point spread. The favorite has covered the point spread in eight of the last nine meetings of these two.
Both of these teams are struggling badly but Wisconsin is the better team right now and I give them the nod here at home.
