South Alabama and Georgia State will make up their postponed Thursday game on Monday in the GSU Sports Arena. The Jaguars have lost nine of their last 10 and the Panthers are the best team in the Sun Belt, winning 12 straight.
The real question is what the hell are you doing considering wagering on this game?

Crazy enough, the Jaguars aren’t as bad as their record indicates. They’ve lost four of their last five games by single digits, which doesn’t include a nine-point loss to Gonzaga earlier in the season. They only shoot 39.5 percent from the field, but shoot the ball OK from beyond the arc at 33.1 percent. They also play fairly decent defense, holding teams to 42.2 percent on the season.
Georgia State continues to roll and has really separated from the pack after a shaky start to the regular season. In its last five games its averaging 83.2 points and shooting 45.8 percent from the field. The Panthers are also shooting 40.2 percent from downtown and knocking down an impressive 76.2 percent from the charity stripe. But while the offense seems to be firing on all cylinders, they’re still giving up 71.7 points on the season and allowing teams to shoot above 44 percent.
The SU records are miles apart, but the truth is neither one of these teams have made you any money this season. South Alabama is just 5-13 against the spread and Georgia State is 7-12 against the spread, which includes a 1-5 record at home.
I see no value in taking either side considering this game could really go either way. But for the sake of the article, I’m taking the points. After all, it’s the only thing I’m guaranteed heading into this lousy Sun Belt matchup.
