The Duke Blue Devils dropped to 17-5, 6-3 ACC after losing at Syracuse 91-89 on Saturday in overtime. The Blue Devils are led by Jabari Parker, who is averaging a team-high 18.6 points and 8.2 rebounds per game. Rodney Hood is averaging an impressive 17.3 points per game, while Quinn Cook is averaging a team-high 5.5 assists per contest. Duke is averaging 81.9 points per game, which ranks in the top 20 in the nation this year. The Blue Devils are shooting a solid 47% from the field as a team this season. Duke has improved their rebounding over the course of the year, but they are still only averaging 35.3 boards per game on the season. After winning five straight games, Duke finally dropped a game on Saturday. The Blue Devils will head home where they have not lost a game all year.
Wake Forest has had its up’s and down’s all year long, but this may be the toughest environment they have played in all season long. Duke has hit its stride and is playing great basketball right now, even though they lost on Saturday. I think the Blue Devils will have a minor let down on Tuesday due to the magnitude of the game against Syracuse. However, Duke has been rolling over people at home and this one could get ugly quick if Wake Forest doesn’t find a way to score early. I’m taking Duke to win by 20 plus on Tuesday.
