The Rutgers Scarlet Knights go on the road in search of an upset of the Memphis Tigers.
Even though Rutgers does not have a record that stands out they can be a dangerous team with their ability to fill the basket. That was what we saw in a 93-70 rout of visiting Houston to avenge an earlier loss to the Cougars. The Scarlet Knights burned the nets at 52.5% and owned a 24-13 edge at the stripe to light up the scoreboard. The defense made this a winning effort by limiting UH to 43% shooting and forcing 14 turnovers. JJ Moore paced the attack with 27 points followed closely by Myles Mack with 25 while Kadeem Jack and Jerome Seagears added 16 and eleven points.

When Memphis is at the top of their game they are busy lighting up the scoreboard and preventing opponents from doing the same. That didn't happen at Southern Methodist where the defensive end of the floor struggled in an 87-72 loss on Saturday. A tie game in the first half fell by the wayside in a 58 point SMU explosion over the final 20 minutes. The Tigers allowed nearly 58% shooting while countering with 40% marksmanship themselves. Joe Jackson was Mr. Everything with 22 points, eight boards and six assists with Geron Jackson adding 18 points and seven helpers while Michael Dixon Jr. tossed in another 13 points.
These teams have never faced one another so we don't have a history. I really have no edge except Memphis is obviously better, at home and can't afford another loss but the points says this could be a rout and still not a cover so no interest for me...
