The Line: New Mexico Lobos -11 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
One of the best Wednesday college basketball games will be when Wyoming takes on New Mexico at the University Arena. The Cowboys have won five of their last six games and the Lobos have won five straight.
Wyoming has actually been one of the biggest surprises in the Mountain West this season. Thanks to 49.2 percent shooting on the season and a defense that holds opponents to 60.8 points, the Cowboys are capable of going toe-to-toe with anybody. It’s why they’re 11-6-1 against the spread this season and have won two of their last three road games straight up.

New Mexico has been consistent all season long and is also playing great basketball at both ends of the court. It’s holding teams under 40 percent shooting on the season and is averaging 78.2 points offensively in its last five games. The Lobos are 8-9 against the spread on the season and 8-2 SU at home.
This margin of this game will come down to rebounding, as New Mexico is 33rd in college basketball with an average of 38.7 boards per game and Wyoming is 341st with an average of 30.1 boards. We know the Cowboys play well on both sides of the ball, but they must find ways to get into the paint and come away with second chance opportunities.
New Mexico is only 3-4 against the spread at home this season and Wyoming hasn’t allowed a 70-point performance in six straight games. The Cowboys are also 5-1 ATS in their last six games against teams with a winning SU record.
Asking New Mexico to win this game by double digits is asking for a bit much. The Cowboys are a feisty team that won’t be intimidated by the screaming fans.
Take the points in this late Wednesday night matchup.
