The California State Northridge Matadors pay a visit to rival UC Davis Thursday night at 10PM.
Cal State Northridge has struggled early on this season and their record speaks to it as the Matadors currently sit at 11-12 overall and are in 6th in conference play. Most recently, the Matadors took the long trip to Honolulu and came home with the L as they fell to the Warriors 77-63. Stephan Hicks led the way with 18 and 7 rebounds and Josh Greene added 15 points. No other Matador reached double digits and the Northridge bench was once again non-existent, totaling just 5 points all game.

UC Davis’s struggles are well documented as well. The Aggies are 7-15 on the season and sit in last place in the Big West. This past weekend, the Aggies fell on the road to rival UC Santa Barbara 82-67. UC Davis struggled mightily from the field and found themselves down 14 at the break. Ryan Sypkens was the lone bright spot for the Aggies -- the reserve guard racked up 22 points off the bench on 6-14 shooting. The Aggies starting 5 was irrelevant in this one and their continued lack of production from their starters is becoming UC Davis’s achilles heel.
Both of these teams have struggled this season and do not have much to look forward to after the regular season ends. I like the Aggies to come out on top in this one behind a big game from Corey Hawkins. UC Davis pulls out the late win for the cover at home as they inch closer to the middle of the pack in conference play.
