The Line: East Carolina Pirates -10 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
Texas-San Antonio will play its second straight road game when it travels to take on the East Carolina Pirates. It’s the first meeting between these two teams in school history.
The Roadrunners are losers in five of their last six and have shown little signs of turning that around. In their last five games they’re shooting just 41.8 percent from the field and allowing opponents to shoot 49.6 percent. Those percentages have equaled a 10-point difference. The Roadrunners are just 3-5 in conference play and have lost their last five road games SU. Against the spread, they’re 5-8 and 2-5 ATS on the road.

The Pirates have lost seven of their last eight, which includes five straight losses at home. They’ve been one of the top shooting teams in the country on the season, shooting 44.8 percent from the field and averaging 76.3 points. However, that average has dropped to 38.1 percent and 57.6 points in their last five games. They’ve also allowed teams to shoot 46.3 percent from the field in as many games. East Carolina is 4-10-2 against the spread and 0-6 ATS at home.
Just looking at the numbers, this should be a no play. Neither team can generate any type of consistency and the ATS record are horrible.
If you’ve been following along for a while, you know that I always take the points when in doubt. After all, it’s the only thing you’re guaranteed in a game that can pretty much go either way.
In that case, give me Texas-San Antonio and the truckload of points.
