The North Texas Mean Green look to snap a three-game losing streak when they take on the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs Saturday night.
North Texas has just been a mess lately, losing six of its last eight games, including its most recent loss against a poor Rice team. The Mean Green are shooting just 42.7 percent from the field and average 14 turnovers per game. Defensively, they give up 73.7 points on 43 percent shooting. In their last five games, however, teams are shooting 47.2 percent from the field against them and averaging 76 points. And it’s not like their schedule has been that difficult. North Texas is 7-7-1 against the spread and 6-4 ATS on the road.

The Bulldogs are starting to make a late run in the C-USA, winning four of their last five games. During that stretch they’re averaging 82 points on 47.1 percent shooting, while holding their opponents to 45 percent shooting and 71.8 points. They’ve remained one of the hottest shooting teams in the country with an average of 84 points on the season and averages close to 10 steals per game on defense. They are 10-7 against the spread and 4-2 ATS at home.
If North Texas is going to lose to Tulsa and Rice on the road, there’s no telling how bad it will lose to a much better Louisiana Tech. The Bulldogs are firing on all cylinders at both ends of the floor and are 4-1 ATS in their last five home games.
There’s really not much of a breakdown needed. Either take Louisiana Tech and the heavy chalk or find another Saturday game to wager on.
Me, I have no problem laying the big number considering Louisiana Tech is by far the better team.
