The USC Trojans and UCLA Bruins face off on Saturday in a Pac-12 college basketball rivalry game.
The USC Trojans are in last place in the Pac-12 and they are looking for revenge for an earlier beat down loss they took at the hands of UCLA. USC is 1-8 in the Pac-12 and8-3 at home this season. Byron Wesley is averaging 16.9 points and 6.8 rebounds to lead the Trojans. Pe’Shon Howard is averaging 10.3 points, Omar Oraby is averaging 9.1 points and 6.5 rebounds, and Nikola Jovanovic is averaging 8.6 points. The UCLA Bruins are coming off of a loss to Oregon State but they are second place in the Pac-12 standings. UCLA is 4-4 away from home this season and they have played the 20th ranked schedule in the country. Jordan Adams is averaging 16.8 points and 5.5 rebounds to lead the Bruins. Kyle Anderson is averaging 15.1 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 6.6 assists, Zach LaVine is averaging 11.2 points, and Norman Powell is averaging 11 points. UCLA is averaging 82.9 points and they are shooting 49.4 percent while defensively they are allowing 70 points and their opponents are shooting 41.6 percent. UCLA look to be a sure thing to make the NCAA Tournament.
USC is 3-1-1 against the spread following a game that they covered the spread, 3-10 against the spread against the Pac-12, and 3-0-1 against the spread in their last four home games against a team with a losing road record. UCLA is 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games, 5-1 against the spread following a loss, and 10-1 against the spread following a game that they didn’t cover the point spread. The favorite has covered the point spread in six of the last eight meetings of these two.
I am not sure if USC pulls the upset, though I don’t put it past them, but I see them keeping it close enough to get the cover.
