The Connecticut Huskies make the long trip South to tangle with the Central Florida Bulls.
I think Connecticut is more then good enough to crack the top four in the AAC but the problem is that this conference is so packed at the top the Huskies might need some help to get there. UConn had a perfect chance to pick up ground at first place Cincinnati and looked good through 20 minutes with a six point lead before the relentless Bearcats emerged victorious 63-58. The Huskies were held to 39% from the floor with the home team hitting at 46% which provided a few more baskets. Shabazz Napier gave the offense 16 points on 5-19 shooting with Lasan Kromah and Niels Giffey netting 13 and ten points.

Central Florida had high expectations heading in to their conference schedule with an 8-3 record but it's been all down hill since with with the Knights trying to avoid the AAC basement at 1-8. The offense and defense have struggled to get on the same page leading to seven straight defeats following a 79-78 overtime loss to visiting South Florida. Both teams fired away at around 51% from the field with the Bulls grabbing 16 offensive rebounds to total seven more looks. Seven more shots equalled a few more baskets which was decisive in a close game. Isaiah Sykes carried the offense with 24 points, 12 rebounds and five assists followed by Matt Williams with 12 points while Kasey Wilson and Calvin Newell combined for 20 points.
I think a lot of what happens here depends on whether the Huskies can shake of their disappointing loss at Cincinnati. In my view UConn has to come back strong or the top four finish in the AAC gets further away...
