The Virginia Cavaliers improved to 19-5, 10-1 ACC after beating Virginia 64-45 on Saturday. On the season, Malcolm Brogdon averages a team-high 12 points per game while averaging 5.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game. Brogdon has been playing great basketball in the last few weeks and has stepped up to be the go-to player in clutch situations. Joe Harris is averaging a second-best 11.3 points per game, while Akil Mitchell averages a team-high 6.7 rebounds per game. Virginia only averages 66.6 points per game while shooting 44.8% from the field as a team this season. The Cavaliers are a decent rebounding team, averaging 36.5 boards per game. Virginia is one of the hottest teams in the country right now, winners of seven straight games.
Virginia is on fire right now and I don’t there are too many teams that can beat this Cavaliers squad right now. Maryland has been playing well over the past week or two but I think they will find it hard to score in this one. Virginia wins comfortably on Monday night at home.
