The Auburn Tigers and the Kentucky Wildcats face off on Wednesday in SEC college basketball action.
The Auburn Tigers are having a tough year and they are coming off of a loss but they had won their three prior games. Auburn is 3-7 in the SEC, 10-3 at home this season, and 0-2 against teams ranked in the top 25. Chris Denson is the Tiger’s leading scorer averaging 20.2 points per game. K.T. Harrell is averaging 19.4 points, Tahj Shamsid-Deen is averaging 9.4 points, and Allen Payne is averaging 7.0 points and 6.0 rebounds. Auburn is averaging 73.9 points and they are shooting 45.2 percent while defensively they are allowing 72 points and their opponents are shooting 43.1 percent. Auburn is a game over .500 and tied for 11th place in the SEC.

The Kentucky Wildcats are driving towards March and are ranked 14th in the nation. UK has won their last three games, are 4-5 away from home this season, and they are 8-2 in the SEC. Julius Randle is averaging 16 points and 9.7 rebounds to lead the Wildcats. James Young is averaging 14.5 points, Aaron Harrison is averaging 14 points, and Andrew Harrison is averaging 10.7 points. Kentucky is averaging 79.5 points and they are shooting 47.5 percent while defensively they are allowing 66.7 points and their opponents are shooting 39.7 percent. Kentucky has a home date with Florida on Saturday.
Auburn is 5-1 against the spread in their last six home games, 4-0 against the spread in their last four games, and 4-14 against the spread following a loss. Kentucky is 5-2 against the spread following a game that they didn’t cover the spread, 5-15-2 against the spread in their last 22 road games, and -13 against the spread in their last 19 Wednesday games. The underdog has covered the point spread in five of the last six meetings of these two.
The line in this one is on the move and I see it down to 7.5 and at that number I like Kentucky to get the win and stretch it to a cover in the end.
