The Line: Evansville Purple Aces -1 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Illinois State Redbirds will look to get back on track when they go on the road to play the Evansville Purple Aces. Illinois State has lost four of its last six games, while Evansville has lost four straight.
These teams played earlier in the season and Illinois State won the game 79-78 in overtime.

Since then, the Redbirds are experiencing their worst stretch of the season. While the defense is holding teams to 70.3 points per game on 43.1 percent shooting, the offense is managing just 68.1 points on 40.4 percent shooting. Two of their last four losses they have been held under 60 points. The Redbirds are 9-13 against the spread and 3-8 ATS on the road.
During the Purple Aces losing streak, they’re playing absolutely no defense, allowing teams to score 77 points on 45.7 percent shooting. Offensively, they’ve managed to top 70 points just twice in their last eight games. Evansville is usually a solid offensive team, shooting 46.1 percent on the season, but it has clearly lost its way over the last week or so. The Purple Aces are 9-10-1 ATS and 3-4-1 ATS at home.
With the way both teams have been playing recently, I’d find something else to bet on considering this game could go either way.
But if you must, I’d pick the home team in a toss-up game. Illinois State has lost its last three road games SU, while Evansville is 4-1-1 ATS in its last six home games against teams with road winning record of less than 40 percent.
You have to figure Evanville’s offense will wake up at home and that the Purple Aces are eager to snap a four-game skid.
Give me the Purple Aces in pretty much a pick’em game.
